Who Volunteers at ACH
People from all walks of life - men, women, students and seniors - volunteer at Alberta Childrens Hospital. As important members of the health care team, ACH volunteers extend and enhance the quality of care and service provided by our Calgary Health Region staff.

Whats Required
In order to volunteer at the Alberta Childrens Hospital, you must be at least 16 years old. Volunteers 16 and 17 years old may be placed in Emilys Backyard (a supervised play area), Emilys Window (gift shop) or in the General Support program helping with a variety of duties behind the scenes such as craft preparation or putting charts together. All volunteers are asked to make a minimum commitment to the hospital of eight months to one year, working a set shift once a week. Typically, a shift is two to four hours long.
